Call (805) 568-2200 (County Elections Division) to request a voter registration form. Voter registration forms are also available in the City Clerk's Office.

General Municipal Elections are held in November of odd-numbered years and are administered by the City Clerk's Office. For further information, please call (805) 564-5309, visit the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall at 735 Anacapa Street. For past years information, please refer to the Past Elections link.

Vote-by-Mail Election

  • The City’s general municipal election will be a vote-by-mail election.
  • Every voter will be mailed a ballot with prepaid postage on the return envelope.
  • Four drop-off centers will be available throughout the City, allowing voters the option to vote in person.

Drop-Off Center Hours

  • City Hall Drop-Off Centers dates TBD.
  • Election Day, Tuesday, TBA, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.    
  • All other Drop-Off Center Locations will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from  7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be dropped off in the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours prior to the Drop-Off Center dates.

Important Election Dates

  • TBD - Ballots mailed to every registered voter in the City
  • TBD - Deadline to register to vote TBD.
  • TBD - City Hall drop-off center open, 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • TBA - Election day!  Ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. (postmarks not accepted).

The City Clerk’s Office is open daily from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. City Hall is closed every other Friday.

To pick up a paper voter registration application visit your county elections office, library, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or U.S. post office. It is important that your voter registration application be filled out completely and be postmarked or hand-delivered to your county elections office at least 15 days before the election.
