Cold SpringParks

Cold Spring Trailhead Cold Spring trailhead is located off Cold Springs Road in Montecito, California.  It is known for its many pools and perennial streams that move through coldwater and matilija sandstone.  Several trails are accessible including East Fork, West Fork, and Tangarine Falls. 

East Fork trail winds its way up the canyon meandering through alder forests and creek side for 4.6 miles to East Camino Cielo.  Total elevation gain is approximately 2,098 feet and loss is 178.  Parking is found along Cold Spring Road in pullouts and along the street, as well as at the top on East Camino Cielo. 

West Fork Cold Spring trailhead is accessed via East Fork Cold Spring trail.  Though not a long trail (2 miles to Gibraltar Road) it is challenging and provides views of Tangerine Falls and a lush green canopy for summertime hikes.

All of Santa Barbara’s front country trails are challenging due to their steep incline, rocky terrain, and drop-offs.  Please use caution.
