The mission of the Creeks Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Division is to improve creek and ocean water quality and restore natural creek systems through storm water and urban runoff pollution reduction, creek restoration, and community education programs.
In November 2000, the City of Santa Barbara’s voters approved Measure B, an increase in the transient occupancy tax rate from 10% to 12% effective January 2001. All proceeds from the 2% tax increase are restricted to use in the Creeks Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Program.
