Easy Collection in Sears Parking Lot

en espanol

On May 2nd and 3rd, the City of Santa Barbara will once again host a free collection event for area businesses and residents' electronic waste. All the e-waste will be properly recycled!

From 8:30am to 4:00pm on Friday and Saturday, we will be accepting all your electronic waste - anything that runs on a plug or batteries.

When:
Friday and Saturday, May 2 / 3
8:30am - 4:00 pm

Where:
Sears Parking Lot
3845 State St.

(corner of La Cumbre & Calle Real)

Some items we accept are:

  • Computers, laptops, and monitors
  • TVs
  • Stereos
  • Microwaves
  • Cables and cords
  • Cell phones and telephones
  • Tape, disk, and hard drives (data will be appropriately destroyed)
  • DVD players and VCRs

Unfortunately, at the event we cannot accept loose batteries, media (DVDs, CDs, disks, etc.), large appliances (like ovens and fridges), toner cartridges or fluorescent bulbs. Those can go to the MarBorg ABOP, the South Coast Transfer Station, or be picked up with a call to MarBorg. Call 564-5631 to inquire.

If you cannot make it to the event and need to dispose of your e-waste before our next event, you may take your unwanted electronics to the MarBorg ABOP at 132 Nopalitos St. | 963-1852.

Batteries and cell phones specifically may also now be placed with your blue recycling bin. Single-family homes can place them in a plastic bag on top of the blue bin. In multi-unit complexes, property management should call MarBorg at 963-1852 for an orange collection pail.
