Public Access & Recreation

One of the fundamental goals of the California Coastal Act is to maximize the public’s access to the shoreline and beach, including protecting existing access and providing new public access where possible. The City’s abundant recreation and support facilities are an important component of both public access and providing lower cost opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the coast.
