Santa Barbara’s Central Library on 40 East Anapamu Street across from the Courthouse turns 100 this year. The library just completed an exterior paint restoration that brings out the architectural beauty of the building. The paint restoration was accomplished after an intensive paint analysis completed by Architectural Resources Group to identify the historic paint colors. The Historic Landmarks Commission selected the final color palette. The intricate details of the wood corbels and window trim were carefully restored. The project involved several city departments including staff from the library coordinating withBradley Klinzing, Project Engineer, Nicole Hernandez, Urban Historian and building inspectors who were on site frequently ensuring the review of the small details of the restoration went smoothly.
