NEW PLANNING HANDOUT DESCRIBING SUPPLEMENTAL SUBMITTAL MATERIALS FOR DESIGN REVIEW OF INFILL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The City of Santa Barbara Planning Division is introducing a new handout document to list and describe supplemental design review submittal materials for infill development of Multi-Unit, Mixed-Use, and Nonresidential Projects.  The supplemental submittal materials may be requested by the Architectural Board of Review (ABR) or the Historic Landmarks Commission (HLC) to assist in review of proposed infill projects to determine they are consistent with applicable design guidelines and with the Project Compatibility Criteria.  The tools and studies listed in the handout would provide information on site characteristics, neighborhood context, guidelines consistency, and include a variety of visual aids and exhibits intended to help demonstrate how a project fits into a neighborhood and could help support the basis for a project approval.  The ABR or HLC may offer more direction for specific preparation of supplemental materials as necessary for review of each individual application.

The City’s Infill Multi-Unit, Mixed-Use, Nonresidential Projects Supplemental Design Review Submittal Materials handout is available on the City website:
