I am honored to have served as your District 1 representative at City Hall for the last 4 years. We’ve made many improvements, including new sidewalks, repaved streets, new bridges with greatly improved pedestrian access, new lighting, and a newly renovated Cabrillo Arts Pavilion, scheduled to reopen next month.
I’m particularly pleased about our progress with parks. We renovated Cabrillo Ballpark with a brand new walking path, exercise equipment, multi-use grass and an entry plaza. Ortega and Dwight Murphy Parks are next, after several community workshops, we have completely redesigned the parks and are now planning construction. On Coast Village Road, we installed sidewalks, a new crosswalk, and a brand new playground for kids, donated by the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation. We also improved the lighting and restroom access for added safety. In May, we added another city ranger position to the budget to help patrol our parks.
In my last 4 years at City Hall, I have been a pragmatic leader that puts the interests of our district and city residents first, not special interests. My job experience as a teacher, non-profit leader and 10 years as a government attorney has taught me the importance of standing up for what is right. Our city faces many challenges, but I will continue to be an independent voice fighting for common sense solutions that benefit all residents.
Priorities for our community:
● Keeping our neighborhoods safe
● Critical infrastructure projects
● Fighting for common sense housing policy
● Supporting local businesses
I would be honored to have your vote for re-election.
