The Santa Barbara Waterfront Department encourages feedback from community members. The Community Commendation and Complaint Form provides an opportunity for your voice to be heard and for us to improve. We accept all legitimate commendations and complaints related to Harbor Patrol, the Waterfront Department and our employees. This process allows the community to show their appreciation for the great work of our employees, and also address behavior that is damaging to our legitimacy in the community.
We review all allegations of misconduct regarding department policy and law violations. This process provides an opportunity for the community to initiate a formal process to ensure accountability and excellent service to the community.
You can fill out and submit the Community Commendation and Complaint Form below or pick one up at the Harbormaster's office lobby at 132-A Harbor Way, Santa Barbara. You can also download the form here.
If you have had an experience, good or bad, please let us know. We also encourage you to speak with the Harbor Patrol Supervisor who can oftentimes provide and solicit important information regarding your experience.
Hard copies may be submitted either by mail, or in person, by delivering it to the City Clerk's Office, City Hall, De la Guerra Plaza, or at the Harbormaster's office.
Upon receipt of your complaint or commendation form, a review of your submission will be initiated. You will be notified in writing when the review is completed.
