Annual Parking Permit Eligibility and Restrictions (SBMC 17.36.035)
Size Restrictions: Vehicles must not exceed 22’ in length, 90” in height, 82” width.
Ineligible Vehicles: Annual parking permits will not be issued to buses, vehicles not licensed for travel on public highways, recreational vehicles, house cars, motorhomes or campers. Annual parking permits will not be issued to vehicles used for commercial purposes unrelated to maritime or ocean activities.
Due to COVID-19 our permit sales process has changed. Please carefully read the information below and expect delays due to COVID-19 processes and protocols. Please plan ahead.
General Parking Permits $125 (Valid 12/01/2020 – 12/31/2021)
There are two ways to purchase a General Parking Permit: [Available December 1, 2020]
1) Online: Completing the parking permit form through this website is the most convenient and efficient way to purchase a General Parking Permit. Permits sold online include two delivery options: In person pick up at our outdoor location (will call), or US Mail. After the online purchase, within minutes customers will receive a temporary parking permit via email to print or display on their smart phone. A printed temporary permit on the vehicle’s dashboard is required in all Self-Pay Lots.
2) In Person: If permits must be purchased in person, Parking Services has an outdoor station available below the Waterfront Administration Building, 132 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara CA 93109.
This location is open daily, weather permitting, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please expect delays and possibly reduced hours due to COVID-19 restrictions and protocols.
The Waterfront Department strongly encourages all General Permits to be purchased online and elect to receive them via US Mail in order to maintain social distancing and minimize in-person contact at the outdoor sales and will call pick up location.
Slip Permittee Parking Permits $95 (Valid 12/01/2020 – 12/31/2021)
Slip Permittee Parking Permits are only available for purchase via phone during business hours. Monday-Sunday 8:30am-5pm. After purchase, permittees may select to pick up the permit in person or have it mailed to their residence or business. Replacement Parking Permits
When a vehicle is sold, traded, or damaged, the customer may purchase a replacement permit for $5.00. Customer needs to return the original parking permit to the Waterfront Parking Office at the time of replacement. The City of Santa Barbara is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced permits after purchase. Replacement parking permits are only available for purchase by appointment. Notice: Outdoor station(s) will not open during inclement weather or if COVID-19 restrictions force us to cease in person interactions with the public. Under these conditions, permits will be sold online only and delivered via US Mail.
Discounted-tiered System for General Parking Permits
While slip permittee permits remain $95 year-round, general permit rates are discounted per the following schedule:
December 1st = $125
May 1st = $110
August 1st = $90
November 1st = $70
