Track Your Water Usage, Detect Leaks & Save Money!
The water meter serving your property has been randomly selected for the City of Santa Barbara’s Advanced Water Meter Pilot Project. The City is piloting water meter technology that will enable you to monitor your water usage online using your smartphone, tablet, or computer for viewing usage patterns, detecting leaks, and managing your water use.
Your meter is one of 200 water meters in the City that has recently been equipped with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) endpoint device. AMI is the technology of automatically collecting water meter data and transferring the data over a secure network to a central database accessible by the City and the water customer.
As a valued water customer, we invite you to access your water use information and provide us feedback on what you like and what could be improved. The City is conducting this year-long AMI pilot project to determine the feasibility of using AMI technology for the Santa Barbara service area.
The City is providing pilot program water customers with a free online water portal called WaterSmart. The portal will help you keep track of your hourly water use, avoid leaks and water damage, see how you compare to similar customers, and get recommended water saving actions.
