The next phase of the Entrada de Santa Barbara Project has begun. The first phase of this private development project, the west side of State Street public improvements, was completed in 2013. The Entrada Project includes 124 hotel units, 22,326 square feet of commercial floor area, a new 264 stall parking garage, and associated public improvements on lower State Street, East Mason Street, and Helena Avenue. This project is being constructed by Entrada de Santa Barbara and will be completed in phases during the next two years. The upcoming onsite construction will affect adjacent streets and sidewalks and will include sidewalk closures and pedestrian barricades on the sidewalks adjacent to the project site. When completed, the Entrada Project will offer both local and visitor-serving amenities, including boutique retail shops, restaurants, public parking, and open-air courtyards.
The project is located on State Street between Cabrillo Boulevard and the Union Pacific Railroad, and on Mason Street between Kimberly Avenue and Helena Avenue (see attached map).
Construction is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2016. During construction, State Street will remain open to traffic with one lane in each direction for most of the project duration. However, to avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the west side of State Street throughout construction and local businesses will remain open and accessible.
