Skaters Honor Scholarship Program

This program is in memory of 4 young men: Rypkin Murphy, Kirby Forsell, Alec Hardy, and Avery Diamond, to promote emotional support and safety among skaters.

Alec tragically lost his life to a traumatic brain injury while skateboarding. Unfortunately, Alec was not wearing his helmet when he fell and hit his head. Thanks to the donations in these young men’s names, the City is able to provide extra scholarships and education to camp participants about the importance of wearing a helmet.

Alec’s mother, Kirsten Jepsen’s, message:

If you would like to donate to the Skaters Honor Scholarship Program you can donate through the Santa Barbara PARC Foundation by clicking HERE.

Skate Camp Scholarships

Skate Camp scholarships are provided by the City’s General Fund and a generous $5,000 donation from the Skaters Honor Scholarship Program. Scholarships are maintained by the Police Activities League (PAL) through their Campership Alliance Program. Please visit their website to apply for a scholarship.
