Los Baños Del Mar, our 50-meter historic beachside pool, is one of our most popular aquatics facilities. Here's what's happening at Los Baños this season.

Learn to swim or refine your stroke with one of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation's experienced Aquatics Team instructors! Private swimming lessons are suitable for all ages. Four 30-minute swimming lessons cost $110 (discounted to $100 for City residents).
Group swimming lessons are offered during the summer season at Santa Barbara's beautiful Los Baños del Mar and Ortega Park swimming pools. Our American Red Cross swimming lesson programs for children 6 months to 12 years incorporate the development of basic swim techniques, water safety skills and most importantly, how to have fun in an aquatic environment. Ten 30-minute swimming lessons over a two-week period cost just $65 (discounted to $60 for City residents).

Daily Ocean Lifeguard service is provided at East Beach, West Beach and Leadbetter Beach from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. during the summer months. Prior to the summer season, weekend only lifeguard service is provided Memorial Day weekend through the start of the summer season. 2017 Summer Season: June 10 - September 4.
All Ocean Lifeguards are United States Life Saving Association trained with Professional Rescuer CPR and Advanced First Aid training.

Built in 1927, the Cabrillo Pavilion Bathhouse at East Beach provides a paid drop-in use weight room, locker amenities and hot showers. This beachfront facility serves as home for the Parks and Recreation Department Aquatics Office. Contained within the facility is the East Beach Grill where you can start your day with their famous wheat germ pancakes and a great cup of Peets coffee.
To provide safe and high quality aquatic programs and services that encourage skill development and promote swimming as a lifetime sport for swimmers of all ages.
The Aquatics Program offers families, community members and visitors many healthy, affordable and safe aquatic activities at our public pools, beaches and through participation in our recreational programs and camps for participants of all ages.
