Children’s Fiesta Parade, Saturday, August 3, 2019
The Children’s Fiesta Parade will be celebrating its 89th year in 2019. A favorite event during the week-long Old Spanish Days Fiesta Celebration, the parade is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department and serves more than 2,500 children and their families each August. Each year, more than 40,000 spectators line the parade route to view the parade.
Families entering for the first time are joined by families who are 10th or more generation parade participants. An entry can be one family of three, a family of siblings and all the cousins, an entire neighborhood or special clubs/groups. At the parade’s conclusion, all participants receive free ice cream, provided by MarBorg Industries. A must see!
There is no cost to participate. Contact the Children's Fiesta Parade Headquarters at (805) 564-5418 to have an application sent to you, click here for an application and instructions or stop by the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, 620 Laguna Street, Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm to pick up one (closed every other Friday). Application deadline: Friday, July 5, 2019.
The public is invited to view this delightful parade starting at 10am. The Parade proceeds down State Street, from Victoria to Ortega Streets.
