Urban ForestryParks

Welcome to the City of Santa Barbara’s urban forestry web page, designed to provide information about the City’s tree programs and regulations regarding the planting and care of trees.

Mission

Our Mission is to plant and maintain City street, park, and public facility trees for the benefit of residents, and to ensure a safe and healthy community forest.

Trees are an important part of Santa Barbara. Trees beautify neighborhoods and the City, and provide ecological, historical, and cultural value. For this reason the City’s management of the public urban forest, as well as its tree protection policies, are guided by sustainability, safety, and resource conservation.
