This park was once the home of famed botanist Francesco Franceschi. Franceschi Park affords a panoramic view of the City of Santa Barbara and its spectacular setting. The park provides a tranquil horticultural resource for the community where the pioneering work of Dr. Franceschi is honored and continued; horticultural education is promoted; passive recreation is encouraged; and the aesthetics of Mediterranean climate landscape is celebrated.

The historic Franceschi Flame tree is currently being treated for white rot decay, in an effort to preserve this century old tree. Treatment includes reduction of the crown, propegation of branchlets, and close monitoring. To view the full plan click here. The tree was designated as a historic tree in October of 2002.
