Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden

Once the site of the elegant El Mirasol Hotel, this downtown block is often called the "crown jewel" of City parks. Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden features a large botanical collection of 75 different tree and plant species, pond, sensory garden with audio posts and interpretive Braille signs, low water use demonstration garden, benches, walking paths, picnic areas, and gazebo. There is no admission fee for this garden.

Interested in Volunteering?

Join gardeners of all experience levels in caring for this beloved park. Every Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Parks staff will provide volunteers with guidance in proper pruning, mulching, deadheading, and weeding techniques and assign tasks. Drop-in volunteers are always welcome. Meet at the big shed on the Santa Barbara Street side of the park. Please bring your own hand tools and gloves if you have them, a limited supply is available.
