San Ysidro Trail San Ysidro Trail is a 4.5-mile trail that begins on East Mountain Road and moves up San Ysidro Canyon to its crest at East Camino Cielo.  The trail is a lighter used trail in comparison with other front country trails.

The trail moves through riparian habitat along the canyon portions of trail then transitions to oak woodland and chaparral near the crest.  Several pools and a waterfall can be spotted along the trail and views at the top include the Channel Islands and Montecito.

All of Santa Barbara’s front country trails are challenging due to their steep incline, rocky terrain, and drop-offs.  Please use caution.

Distance: 4 miles to summit of 3,450 ft.

Elevation Gain: 2,674 ft

Elevation Loss: 120 ft
