Everything you need to know about food distributions during the stay-at-home order

Food Distributions during COVID-19

The Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with FoodBank of Santa Barbara County, offers food distributions to the community at several locations. Food distributions are open to all people, though minors must be accompanied by an adult. There is no paperwork involved; all are qualified to receive food, and there is no limit to how many food distribution sites a person can visit.

The current schedule of food distributions at Parks and Recreation Department sites is as follows:

Franklin Neighborhood Center

1136 East Montecito Street

  • Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • Third Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m.
  • CAC Senior Meals daily starting at 11:30 a.m.

Parque De Los Niños

520 Wentworth Avenue

  • First and Second Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.

Louise Lowry Davis Center

1232 De La Vina Street

  • CAC Senior Meals daily starting at 11:30 a.m.

Westside Neighborhood Center

423 West Victoria Street

  • Wednesdays: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Fridays: 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Food distribution staff takes all appropriate precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. This includes ensuring social distancing of six feet and providing hand sanitizer and a restroom for hand washing. Staff members wear gloves and sanitize work stations before, during, and after food distributions. At the Westside Neighborhood Center, an option for food pickup through a drive-thru window is available. If you have questions or concerns, please call (805) 897-2566.
