MacKenzie Park Off-Leash Dog Area: Construction to Begin Next Week

New Park Feature to Open March 2019

The Off-Leash Dog Area at MacKenzie Park will provide a new recreation area for residents and their dogs to socialize and exercise within a fenced enclosure. The Off-Leash Dog Area will be located at the eastern end of the park near State Street.

The Off-Leash Dog Area will include two separate fenced enclosures, to separate large dogs from smaller or special needs dogs. This new park feature will also include drinking water fountains for dogs, trash receptacles, seating areas, safety lighting for pedestrians, and new landscaping and irrigation.

Construction Dates

Construction will begin on November 26, 2018. We expect to open the Off-Leash Dog Area to the public in March 2019. The eastern end of MacKenzie Park will be closed during construction, with other areas closed intermittently for site access.
