MacKenzie Park Playground Replacement

Project to Begin June 6

The playground at MacKenzie Park (at State and Las Positas) will be closed for replacement starting June 6, 2018.

The existing playground equipment, which was installed in 2006, has aged through wear and tear, and the playground's rubber surfacing has lost much of its resiliency over time.

The new playground equipment will be essentially the same shape, size, and colors, and will contain the same components, with the addition of a small climbing apparatus called a "volcano climber."

We plan to reopen the playground at the end of June, with a tentative open date of June 29. In the meantime, playgrounds can be found nearby at Stevens Park (Canon Drive) and Oak Park (West Alamar).
