Financial donations can be made by check, addressed to: Santa Barbara Public Library c/o Library Administration, P.O. Box 1019, Santa Barbara, CA 93102.
Book donations: The vast majority of donated books are not able to be added to the Library's collection, due to limited space and the availability of staff to catalog and process materials for lending. Central Library maintains a small book sale area that benefits the Friends of the Library. Popular materials in like-new collection may be added to the book sale.
The following materials are not accepted:
- Encyclopedias
- Magazines
- LPs, VHS, or audio cassette tapes
- All Textbooks (K-12 & College)
- Software
- Items that are damaged or in poor condition
- Items that are not in demand
