Comics, Board Games, and Storytimes Are All Part of Santa Barbara Reads

Santa Barbara Reads Kick-Off, Book Discussions, and Author Event

Each year through Santa Barbara Reads the Santa Barbara Public Library offers one title to the community with the intent that everyone will read the same book at the same time. This year's Santa Barbara Reads selection is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. The 2017 Santa Barbara Reads kicks off on November 1 at 6:00 PM at the Central Library's Faulkner Gallery. The community is invited to pick-up free copies of Station Eleven, engage in a live impromptu play reading, and participate in a Cosplay Competition.

Food for Fines: Library Overdue Fines Reduced $2 per Donated Item

November 21, 2017 

Santa Barbara Public Library members will be able to pay down overdue fines on their accounts between December 1 and December 14, 2017 by bringing items of food to the library to be donated to the Unity Shoppe of Santa Barbara. The Food for Fines program will be in effect at the Central Library, located at 40 E. Anapamu St., and the Eastside Library, at 1102 E. Montecito St.
