Botticelli, Titian, and Beyond: Masterpieces of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums, the current exhibition at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, celebrates 500 years of Italy's artistic legacy. Opening with some of the earliest and most refined examples of Italian painting, including Sandro Botticelli's stunning The Annunciation, the exhibition unfolds chronologically. This lecture by a member of the SBMA Docent Council will walk you through highlights of the exhibition, with examples from the High Renaissance, the dramatic Baroque era, and eighteenth and nineteenth century Italian art.
The 45-minute presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
