The Santa Barbara Central Library will host a free series of 3 popular parenting workshops in collaboration with the Family Service Agency.
The series will be offered in Spanish, April 8, 15 and 22. Parent Educator Liliana Hernandez teaches caregivers and parents new skills in these Wednesday evening classes from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Faulkner Gallery in the Central Library at 40 E. Anapamu St.
The Nurturing Parenting Series emphasizes the importance of raising children in warm, trusting, and empathetic environments. Specific class topics include: “Nurturing Parenting as a Lifestyle,” “Discipline with Dignity,” and “Developing Nurturing Routines.” Interested parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend all three classes. Childcare may be available on request. Please sign up in person at the Children’s Desk in the Central Library or by calling (805) 564-5603, as space is limited. All lilbrary programs are free and open to the public.
