SBPL management, in consultation with City’s Risk Management department and a City-wide reopening team, continue to plan for further reopening. SBPL is waiting to add further in-person services in the building until all staff have had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. SBPL anticipates a return to computer use at all locations and increased access to Library buildings this summer as long as Santa Barbara County is in orange or yellow tiers. SBPL will meet or exceed all Public Health guidelines for reopening, as health and safety of staff and patrons are the utmost priority.

SBPL’s safety protocols have been updated to reflect these changes as well as some other procedural changes based on new CDC guidelines and direction from Risk Management. View the complete details of our safety protocols and procedures in our phased reopening plan in response to COVID-19
