Learning at Home Resources

Dear Families -- We realize that when you’re looking online for learning activities that are fun and ready to do with your kids, it can get overwhelming quickly. Here are some carefully chosen links to get you started.

We kept in mind the kind of activities that we would refer to to actually build a Library programs around if we were all getting together!

  • Experience storytime at home with these videos from the Youth Services team on SBPL's YouTube channel
  • Read-Alongs to access with your library that are Available Now
  • High Quality eBooks - free from seven School Library Publishers, arranged by school grade. 
  • Tumblebooks - eBooks available for children in grades K-6.
  • Storyline Online -  Streaming videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations.
  • On Instagram - Follow #SaveWithStories or #OperationStorytime to see all sorts of interesting people narrating or reading along picture books. 
  • KidLit TV - Go on an adventure in a world of stories! Offers a variety of literature-based digital shows.

  • BBC Newsround - Current news stories that are presented in an approachable way for kids. note: additional games and puzzles linked from the top bar are not available outside of the UK.
