From 3D Printing to Social Media Basics, Increase Your Capacity at the Santa Barbara Central Library

The Santa Barbara Public Library provides information services, reading materials, and educational resources to residents of all ages from the Santa Ynez Valley to Carpinteria.

The Central Library, located at 40 E. Anapamu St., offers classes every Tuesday for adults to learn and practice digital and technological skills in the Library’s Tech Lab. Registration is not required but strongly encouraged to ensure a learner’s seat in the class. Registration can be complete here:

In December the library is offering:

  • Social Media Basics: Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM.

Learners will learn the basics of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for individual user accounts.

  • Cutting the Cable Cord: Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM.

Learn about and how you might be able the “cut the cable cord” in favor of using popular streaming subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu and library resources.  

  • 3D Printing: Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 11:00 AM.

Learn the basics of Computer Aided Design and 3D Printing in the Library's Tech Lab! Participants will be introduced to TinkerCAD, a free, online 3D CAD design tool. Designs will be printed on the library's 3D printer after the class. There is no fee to attend this class or print 3D designs on the library’s 3D printer.
