The Santa Barbara Public Library provides information services, reading materials, and educational resources to residents of all ages from the Santa Ynez Valley to Carpinteria.
The Central Library, located at 40 E. Anapamu St., offers classes every Tuesday for adults to learn and practice digital and technological skills in the Library’s Tech Lab. Registration is not required but strongly encouraged to ensure a learner’s seat in the class. Registration can be complete here: https://www.santabarbaraca.gov/gov/depts/lib/events/default.asp
In November the library is offering:
Learners will learn basic internet terminology, how to navigate a browser, locate a website, identify common domains, and stay safe while searching the internet in this class.
Learners will learn the basic features and functions of mobile devices and how to download apps.
Learn the basics of Computer Aided Design and 3D Printing in the Library's Tech Lab! Participants will be introduced to TinkerCAD, a free, online 3D CAD design tool. Designs will be printed on the library's 3D printer after the class. There is no fee to attend this class or print 3D designs on the library’s 3D printer.
In this webinar, we will learn how to make your website donor-ready, improve your donation pages, choose the right donor platform, create powerful email fundraising campaigns, promote monthly giving, use social media techniques to grow your email list, and invest in digital advertising to raise money online. We will also address organizational readiness and capacity as a factor in your success. The post-webinar discussion will be lead by a representative from Foundation Center, the world's leading source of information on philanthropy, fundraising, and grant programs.
This webinar is funded by a grant from The California Wellness Foundation (Cal Wellness) and made accessible because of the library's relationship with the Foundation Center. Created in 1992 as a private independent foundation, Cal Wellness’ mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education, and disease prevention.
