In the New Learner interview, staff will:
The interview usually takes 30-45 minutes and can be done in-person in the SBPL’s Adult Education Center or virtually through Zoom.

Native Spanish speakers who would like to become a better reader in Spanish can be matched with a trained tutor to help you improve your ability to read, write, and spell in Spanish.
SBPL staff can also get you started in our Leamos program online. This easy-to-use course helps Spanish-speaking adults learn to read and write in Spanish. Improved Spanish literacy can be your only goal, or a step towards English language learning.
Practice English and make friends in the community at the same time!
Join our weekly English Conversation Group and practice your English in a relaxing and casual environment.
All English language learners are welcome! You do not need to be enrolled in the Adult Literacy program to participate.
