Student Success Library Cards

 

 Through a partnership with the Santa Barbara Unified School District, students are able to obtain a Student Success Library Card at enrollment. The Library Card is not a physical card - it’s tied to their student ID number: 2177000+student ID number.  Anytime a password is needed, it will be your last name. 

The Student Success Library Card gives access to: 

  • Check out of 3 books or other physical materials at a time from any Santa Barbara Public Library location
  • Online resources, such as Hoopla and Overdrive ebooks and eaudio, Mango Languages learning software, and more. 

Frequently Asked Questions 

How much does a library card cost?  Library cards are 100% free. 

What about fines for overdue books?  Santa Barbara Public Library does not charge fees for overdue materials. If library materials are more than 30 days late, a lost item fee will be charged. This fee can be waived if materials are returned within 60 days. See details here. 

What information does SBUnified share with Santa Barbara Public Library? 

Student's Name, Student ID number, Home address, Student’s date of birth, Parent and/or guardian’s name, and phone number or email address. Santa Barbara Public Library does not share personal information, has a privacy policy, and has signed an agreement with the school district to protect the privacy of student information. 

What if my child already has a Santa Barbara Public Library Card?  Then there is no need to opt-in to receive a Student Success Card.

There is no physical card, but you can login or check out materials by using 2177000+student ID number. Anytime a password is needed, it will be your last name.

What if I want to get a regular Library Card rather than Student Success Card?

Visit any Library location to obtain a card.
