To protect the safety of the flying public the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken the Instrument Landing System off line because an antenna on the Localizer was malfunctioning.
Aircraft will not be able to arrive or depart during low visibility conditions such as low cloud cover, fog, or rain. Due to this, some arrivals have been rerouted to other airports. Several flights have been delayed or are being rescheduled. Some flights may be bused to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to depart from there. As weather permits, airlines will continue to operate on a delayed schedule. A replacement antenna is on order and will be installed in the next few days. In the meantime, flights may be grounded or rerouted due to weather.
