Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) will host an inaugural event on Monday, August 12, 2019 where local dignitaries and airline representatives will welcome the arrival of the first Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Delta Air Lines is making a bold commitment to the Santa Barbara region with three daily nonstop flights to Salt Lake City. Delta’s comfortable 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft will connect Santa Barbara in less than two hours to a world-class hub with flights to more than 90 domestic and international destinations in the world’s largest airline network.

WHAT: Participants will offer brief remarks and acknowledgments will be provided prior to the arrival of the flight. Media will be allowed to witness the Santa Barbara Fire Department water cannon salute at approximately 12:15pm commemorating the incoming maiden flight. Dignitaries will then greet arriving passengers with Santa Barbara-themed gift bags and refreshments. Interviews will be available following the passenger welcome.
ONE HOP TO THE WORLD: Not only is Salt Lake City a desirable destination in its own right, this airport hub will connect Santa Barbara travelers to Delta Air Lines’ 90 nonstop domestic and international destinations, including Paris, Amsterdam, London, and several cities in Canada and Mexico. Delta Airlines announced last month SLC has been their fastest growing hub with plans for nonstop flights to Asia.
COMFORT TRAVEL: The SBA-SLC service features a 76 seat Embraer 175 with 12 first class seats, 20 Delta Comfort+ seats and 44 seats in the main cabin. With SBA’s close-in parking, famously fast security checkpoint lines and relaxed vibe, the vacation begins at the point of departure.
