American Recovery & Reinvestment Act

Welcome to the City of Santa Barbara American Recovery and Reinvestment Act webpage. On February 7, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) to stimulate the economy. This package disburses $787 billion to twenty-eight different Federal Agencies and provides tax relief, state and local government funding and funding for social programs. Implementation of the efforts funded through this package requires unprecedented transparency and accountability and each agency is required to file regular reports on the status of funding and projects funded.

The City may receive formula (direct) funding or apply for competitive grants through the State and Federal Departments. Staff is continually reviewing funding opportunities that meet the ongoing needs of the City.

In compliance with the Recovery Act the City of Santa Barbara files regular reports with the United States Recovery Board.
