Special Needs / Campers Needing Accommodations
The Parks and Recreation Department welcomes the participation of persons with disabilities in our programs and facilities. We are committed to providing safe, enjoyable, inclusive recreational opportunities for all, including individuals with special needs. The Adapted Recreation Program provides both specialized and inclusive sports and recreation activities for children and adults of all ages and abilities. The goal of Adapted Programs is to plan for reasonable and appropriate program accommodations for a positive recreational experience. This may or may not include extra supervision provided by an inclusion support staff. Registration must be received three weeks prior to program start in order to allow sufficient time for consultation between staff, assessment of the individual, evaluation of activity, level of supervision required and provision of staff. Participants requiring accommodations may need to provide additional information concerning their medical condition. For further information please contact Julie Thomas at 564-5421.
