| Registration & Policies 2008

Our popular summer camps and sports clinics provide a fun-filled, enriching experience for children to enjoy their summer. Our camps and clinics have a reputation for offering a wide variety of recreation activities designed to develop athletic and social skills, independence and positive self-esteem.

To ensure enrollment accuracy, you must clearly and completely fill out the required activity registration form described below. The form must be signed by a custodial parent or legal guardian to validate registration. We cannot process incorrect, incomplete, illegible or unsigned forms. If registering in person, please review the instructions below so you bring the necessary information to complete the registration form. Registration deadlines: Registration will be accepted until 5pm on the Wednesday prior to the first day of camp for all sessions with spaces remaining. See “Campers Needing Special Accommodations” below.

How to Register
ONLINE WITH eRecreation
To complete registration process the form below must be received at 620 Laguna Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

IN PERSON:
Monday-Thur, 8am-6pm, Fri 8am-5pm, closed every other Friday, at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 620 Laguna Street. Please bring the following information with you:

• Emergency contact names and numbers
• Child’s medical information for allergies, diet or activity restrictions, medications used or medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.
• Your Resident Discount Card or proof of City residency
• Cash, check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa)

BY MAIL:
Mail the activity form below with your payment to City Parks & Recreation, Front Desk, 620 Laguna Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

CITY RESIDENTS

Use your Resident Discount Card (Spanish Information) to take advantage of reduced camp fees. For more information on the Resident Fee Discount Program, call 564-5418.

For Resident Discount Cardholders Using Online Registration
1) If you have your User ID and password, simply log on, register and receive your automatic savings.
2) If you do NOT have a password, please call our office at 564-5418 PRIOR TO registration and we will help activate your eRecreation account.
TIP: If you provide your email address, you can request a User ID and password reminder be sent to you at any time via the internet.

SUMMER CAMP PARENT HANDBOOK
The Parent Handbook assists campers and their parents to have a great camp experience. It answers many of the questions parents ask and can be used as a handy reference tool.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
The Parks and Recreation Department is a proud member of the Campership Alliance, a community collaborative that provides scholarship opportunities for low-income, disadvantaged and minority children. For more information about the Campership Alliance and how to apply for summer camp scholarships, please contact the Police Activities League (PAL) office at 962-5560. Verification of scholarship awards takes place in May.

CAMPERS NEEDING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
In order to allow sufficient time for consultation between staff, parents and your child’s physician regarding the particular needs of your child and to plan for reasonable and appropriate program accommodations, all accommodation requests must be made at least three weeks prior to the first day of camp. Children requiring accommodations may be required to provide additional information concerning their medical condition, including a physician’s report and clearance before participating in camp activities. Please provide a specific description of your child’s medical conditions, physical limitations or special needs on the camp/activity registration form in the space indicated. Questions? TRANSFER POLICY
To transfer to a different camp or from one session to another, you must come to the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 620 Laguna Street, fill out a new registration form, pay a $15 transfer fee and any applicable fee differences.

REFUND POLICY
There is a $15 per session charge for cancellations made up to 14 days before a camp session begins. After this time, a 50% charge will apply. No refunds will be issued after the first day of camp.

LATE POLICY
Please be prompt when picking up your child from camp or extended care. There is a charge of $5 for every 15 minutes (or portion thereof) that you are late.
