Discover the wonderful world of science in a fun, hands-on environment. This unique one-week camp is an opportunity to expand your young scientist’s understanding of science. Campers make water rockets, cardboard boats that float, slime, speakers, and perform chemistry experiments with liquid nitrogen. An excursion to the UCSB Marine Science Institute and Ratheon Vision Systems is included.
NOTE: Because of the 4th of July holiday, campers who attend session 1 (June 30- July 3) are invited to come back to Westmont on the following Friday (July 11) to enjoy antoher day of camp!
Discovery Camp is limited to 30 campers each session. Our staff will greet campers at the pick up and drop off location at Westmont. Participants registered for Discovery Camp will receive a Welcome Letter detailing pick up and drop off locations along with a campus map.

Transportation
Each session will host one full day excursion to a scientific point of interest Transportation will be provided by Santa Barbara Transportation.

Director, Heather Hertema
Hi! I am currently a student at the University of California, San Francisco pursuing a doctorate degree in pharmacy. Before moving to San Francisco, I was an adjunct faculty member at Westmont College. While in beautiful Santa Barbara,
I was honored to share my excitement about science through Discovery Camp. I am passionate about inspiring and motivating young students to pursue science in college and as a career, and I look forward to directing another wonderful camp and to meeting you!
