Karen Putnam offers creative fun through drama, dance, music, photography, face painting and American Sign Language. Sharing is encouraged through songs, stories, parachute games, costumes, puppet play and art projects. Social skills are developed through special Multigenerational Classes offered to children and in retirement home settings. Tea parties, birthday parties and private classes are available upon request.

Solstice Parade Puppets at Santa Barbara Zoo 6/14-6/17 & 6/26
Art Focus: Animal puppets! Using the 2010 Carnival Solstice Parade Theme, we will create original clothing for puppets. Children will explore movement as they tour the Santa Barbara Zoo with these animal creations. Puppets and participants have option to be in the Solstice Parade on Saturday, June 26. S.B. Solstice Parade Hats at Santa Barbara Zoo 6/21-6/24 & 6/26
Art Focus: Animal Hat Creations! Using a variety of color, brushes, unique art supplies and recycled materials to create fabulous animal hats. The zoo surroundings will inspire our work and participants have the option of wearing their hats in the Solstice Parade on Saturday, June 26. S.B. Zoo coupons will be given to each participant. Giraffes and Jump Ropes at MacKenzie Park 6/28-7/1
Art Focus: Paint Techniques! Further develop coordination with jump ropes and rhythms! Learn various ways to use jump ropes physically and artistically. Can you paint with a jump rope? Why “yes” said the jumping giraffe. Code: 13729

Sunsets and Sea Creatures at MacKenzie Park 8/16-8/19
Art Focus: Water Colors and Canvas! Children paint their own ocean and sunset scenes on canvas. Children will choose music to match the mood and design of their paintings. Code: 13732

Tortoise, Hare, Lion & Mouse at MacKenzie Park 8/23-8/26
Art Focus: Story Writing! Children create original story and background settings. Book, stickers and music CD are included with materials. Each participant will take home their own original story with their own illustrations. Code: 13733
