Why isn’t my password working?

Your password is case sensitive. Please be sure to type the password using upper and lower case characters as needed.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password any time by clicking on Change Profile and then Manage Password.

What if I forget my password?

You may request a password reminder by selecting “Forgot Your Password” on the login page. Enter your username, and then click on Send Password. Your password reminder will be sent to your email address saved in Utilities Online.

Can I make a one-time payment without registering?

The City of Santa Barbara customers can pay bills online without having to register for a Utilities Online account. Simply provide your account number and a valid Visa or MasterCard. Debit Cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo are also accepted.

How do I sign up for Automatic Payment?

Click here to access Automatic Payment Service Application and Agreement. Return the completed form and a voided check to the following address: City of Santa Barbara, Finance Department, Billing/Collections, PO Box 1990, Santa Barbara, CA 93102.

How do I change my billing address?

I have more than one account for water, sewer, and/or trash. What do I do if I don’t see all of my accounts listed after I’ve registered?

Why didn’t I get my verification email after I registered?

The verification email and subsequent email notifications are sent from SBUtilities@SantaBarbaraCA.gov. If you use a spam filter, you should make an exception for this email sender, otherwise you may not receive Utilities Online notifications.

Why isn’t the payment page working?

After you press go on the payment page, you may need to allow the pop-up. Click on the “Pop-up blocked” ribbon and choose “Always allow pop-ups from this site.” You will then be able to go to the payment processing pages.
