Free E-Waste Collection Event

October 18th and 19th in Sears Parking Lot

On October 18th and 19th, the City of Santa Barbara will once again host a free collection event for local businesses and residents' electronic waste. All the e-waste will be recycled!

From 8:30am to 4:00pm on Friday and Saturday, we will be accepting all your electronic waste - anything that runs off a plug or batteries.

When:
Friday and Saturday, October 18th/19th
8:30am - 4:00 pm

Where:
Sears Parking Lot
3845 State St.
(corner of La Cumbre & Calle Real)

Some items we can take are:

  • Computers, laptops, and monitors
  • TVs
  • Stereos
  • Microwaves
  • Cables and cords
  • Cell phones and telephones
  • Tape, disk, and hard drives (data will be appropriately destroyed)
  • DVD players and VCRs
Unfortunately, we cannot accept loose batteries, media (DVDs, CDs, disks, etc.) large appliances (like ovens and fridges), toner cartridges or fluorescent bulbs. Some of those can go to the MarBorg ABOP, the South Coast Transfer Station, or be picked up. Call 564-5631 to inquire.

The City hosts two e-waste collection events per year, one in the spring and one in the fall. At our last event in April, over 1800 cars brought 150,000 pounds of e-waste to be recycled.

If you cannot make the event and need to dispose of your e-waste before our next event, you may take your uwanted electronics to the MarBorg ABOP at 132 Nopalitos St. | 963-1852.
