Current Projects

The following projects were approved by City Council on March 25, 2014 for CDBG funding from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015:

The following projects were approved for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
Casa Esperanza - Day Center & Shelter
The Homeless Shelter provides sobriety-based shelter care to homeless individuals and families. Case management and hot meals are provided to shelter residents.
City of SB Parks & Rec. – Westside Center ADA Restroom Rehabilitation
Remodel of public restrooms for ADA accesibility at the Westside Neighborhood Center. 
City of SB Parks & Rec. – Parque de los Ninos Renovation Project
Replacement of playground equipment, landscape renovations and site improvements. 
City of SB – Voluntario Street Access Ramps
Construction of fourteen ADA access ramps designed to make crossing safer for the most vulnerable users (i.e. disabled, elderly, and pedestrians with strollers).
Domestic Violence Solutions - Emergency Shelter
The Emergency Shelter provides safety and supportive services for battered women and their children who are in danger of physical harm.  They assist women in rebuilding their lives so that they can live independently and free of violence. 
Girls Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara – Girl’s Bathroom Remodel

Transition House - Comprehensive Homeless Services
Comprehensive Homeless Services helps move families more quickly through the shelter program and increase the number of families moving into permanent housing.
Women's Economic Ventures - Self Employment Training Program (SET)
SET helps alleviate poverty and reduce unemployment in the community by providing low- and moderate-income residents with the training and support to start or expand a small business, create jobs, and fuel economic recovery.
