Los Baños Del Mar, our beautiful, beach side, historic 50-meter pool, is one of the stars of our Aquatics program.

Here's what's happening at Los Baños this season:

Lap Swimming for Adults

Lap swimming hours are as follows:
August 22, 2016 through October 28, 2016

Weekdays (M-F) 7:30-9am; Noon-2pm; 7:15-8:15pm
Weekends and Holidays* Noon-2pm

* Important Note: Pool is always closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day; on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, we're open, but only from 12pm to 2pm.

Summer Recreation Swim at Los Baños

2016 Summer Season: June 13 - August 20
Recreation Swim is open Monday - Saturday from 2:15 pm-3:45 pm. Admission is $1 for children and $5 for adults.

Ortega Park Pool

600 N. Salsipuedes Street, Santa Barbara CA  93101 (map and directions)

Open during the summer season. Swimming lessons and free recreations swim for children 13 years of age and younger. Children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 18 years of age and older.   2016 Summer Season: June 13 - August 19. Open Monday - Friday from 1 - 3 p.m. Admission is FREE

Oak Park Wading Pool

300 W. Alamar, Santa Barbara CA  93105 (map and directions)

Open for free recreational swim during the summer season for use by children 7 years of age and younger. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 18 years of age or older.  

 Open seven days a week from 12 - 5 p.m during the summer season.  Admission is FREE.

West Beach Wading Pool

401 Shoreline Drive, Santa Barbara CA  93101 (map and directions)

The West Beach Wading Pool is closed until further notice

Private Lessons

Learn to swim or refine your stroke with one of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation's experienced Aquatics Team instructors! Private swimming lessons are suitable for all ages. Four 30-minute swimming lessons cost $110 (discounted to $100 for City residents).

Group Lessons

Group swimming lessons are offered during the summer season at Santa Barbara's beautiful Los Baños del Mar and Ortega Park swimming pools. Our American Red Cross swimming lesson programs for children 6 months to 12 years incorporate the development of basic swim techniques, water safety skills and most importantly, how to have fun in an aquatic environment. Ten 30-minute swimming lessons over a two-week period cost just $65 (discounted to $60 for City residents).

Ocean Lifeguard Service at Santa Barbara Beaches

Daily Ocean Lifeguard service is provided at East Beach, West Beach and Leadbetter Beach from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. during the summer months.  Prior to the summer season, weekend only lifeguard service is provided Memorial Day weekend through the start of the summer season. 2016 Summer Season: June 11 - September 5.

All Ocean Lifeguards are United States Life Saving Association trained with Professional Rescuer CPR and Advanced First Aid training.

Santa Barbara Ocean Swimming from the Cabrillo Bathhouse

1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara, CA 93103 (map and directions) Phone (805) 897-2680

Part of the City of Santa Barbara's facilities since 1927, the Bathhouse at East Beach provides a paid drop-in use weight room, locker amenities and hot showers. This beachfront facility serves as home for the Parks and Recreation Departments Aquatics Office. Contained within the facility is the East Beach Grill where you can start your day with their famous wheat germ pancakes and a great cup of Peets coffee.
