The A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden, located in Historic Mission Park, is maintained by City Parks Division staff and approximately 65 volunteers. Volunteers are assigned a specific rose bed which they maintain throughout the year. Annual rose pruning days are held in January each year where the public is invited to attend and help prune or learn how to prune roses.
Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens features a collection of uncommon blooming plants, water plants, low water use landscaping, and sensory garden. This park offers a place for people to practice and be trained in horticulture.
A volunteer coordinator works with all volunteers at these two sites.
Please call (805) 564-5433 for more information on volunteering at one of these parks.
