AIRPORT TRAFFIC AIDE $12.45/HR
Patrol the loading zone in front of the Airport Terminal building and parking lots to ensure the orderly flow of vehicular traffic by explaining parking regulations to motorists or by issuing citations. Staff the exit lane in the airline terminal building to ensure unauthorized persons do not enter the concourse.  May be required to serve as an escort in restricted areas of the Airport. May be required to perform security checks of the Airport Terminal building or of the commercial aircraft parking ramp.  Position will work 15-20 hours per week. LIBRARY ASSISTANT I (SANTA YNEZ VALLEY)  $18.36/HR
Looking for mature, energetic persons with attention to detail who enjoy working with the public in a busy environment, are experienced with computers and digital media, and able to lift bags weighing up to 25 pounds. Duties include check-in and checkout, assisting public in using the public computers and navigating the library catalog, answering directional questions, assisting with basic reference questions, collecting fees and fines, shelving, and other tasks that may be assigned.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary;   Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable. 12-16 hrs/week, Schedule to be determined.  Please note that hours and schedule may vary; ability to work a flexible schedule is highly desired. LIBRARY TECHNICIAN (SANTA YNEZ VALLEY) $20.39/HR

Seeking team player to provide exemplary customer service to all individuals and actively participate in maintaining a positive customer service environment. Under supervision, responds to patron in-person and telephone requests for library materials, services, and basic reference information using the library online catalog, databases, reference print sources and other reference resources; assists patrons in completing requests for material not available in the local collection.  Participates in the promotion of library services and resources; assists patrons with use of the library’s downloadable collections; assists in the preparation of informational handouts including calendars and flyers; monitors, orders, and receives supplies; participates in the preparation and maintenance of displays; assists with seasonal and on-going programs and activities; checks out library materials to patrons; checks in and prepares materials for return to the circulating collection; registers new patrons, collects over-due fines; performs related duties and responsibilities as required.  Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers. RECREATION PROGRAM LEADER (A-OK & RAP)

The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Academic year 2014-2015. "ROVING" FACILITY MONITOR $11.20/HR

The Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for a “roving” facility monitor to oversee rentals in various City facilities and parks on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure customers are following rules and regulations, including required music decibel levels. SKATEBOARD INSTRUCTOR $13.20 - $15.20/HR D.O.E.

Under the Direction of the Youth Activities/Sports Supervisors and Skateboard Camp Director, the Skateboard instructor teaches skateboard techniques to children in the Spring, Summer and Saturday Skateboard Clinics, This position teaches skateboarding to children ages 4-11 at Skaters Point on Cabrillo Blvd. The instructor will assess skating skills, plan activities and arrange obstacle courses, assist skaters with pushing, standing, balancing up to more intermediate skills such as Ollies, ramps and dropping into bowls.  Instructors will also assist with skater’s sign in, check safety equipment and comply with all regulations of Skaters Point.  Skateboard instructors attend, weekly planning meetings, promote positive relationships and community events with local skate shops, families, participants and local skater enthusiasts.  Skateboard instructors should plan on working approximately 15-20 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8:15 am – 11:15 am) and Saturdays during open FREE skate clinics from 9:00 – 11:00 am.  Skateboard Instructors assist the Director with collecting, skater information, may help with sign in, repair skateboards, check Skaters point each morning for unsafe debris and may sweep or perform other duties such as walking skaters to the bathroom or meeting and greeting parents. ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER $25.65/HR

The City of Santa Barbara is hiring a temporary, part-time position to assist in various work assignments for the Planning Division, with an emphasis on enforcing zoning and sign regulations. Candidate must have the ability to read, interpret, and review architectural plans; research property records, planning files and maps; read and interpret zoning codes; and explain City ordinances. Duties include responding to alleged violations; conducting site inspections and taking photographs; sending written notices of violations; attaining abatement of violations, and documenting enforcement activities. Essential functions require a valid driver's license and may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.  Related work experience in the planning field, and specifically code enforcement, is desired.
