ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST $20.18/HR

This position reports to the Wastewater Collection System Superintendent and requires heavy data entry of various daily reports or work packets as well as daily end of day downloads of GPS tracking devices.  Candidate will also assist Lead staff or Superintendent with other administrative duties as assigned.  Highly accurate data entry skills are required as is the need to be able to effectively review one’s data entry results to correct any errors or omissions prior to handing in completed assignments.  Typing speed of 50 WPM is required.  Candidate needs to be skilled with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Intermediate Word, and Intermediate Excel) and be able to quickly learn to be proficient with several specialized computer programs. This is a part-time, 30- hours per week position (Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM, one-hour lunch) at the El Estero Wastewater Treatment Plant at 520 E. AIRPORT TRAFFIC AIDE $12.45/HR
Patrol the loading zone in front of the Airport Terminal building and parking lots to ensure the orderly flow of vehicular traffic by explaining parking regulations to motorists or by issuing citations. Staff the exit lane in the airline terminal building to ensure unauthorized persons do not enter the concourse.  May be required to serve as an escort in restricted areas of the Airport. May be required to perform security checks of the Airport Terminal building or of the commercial aircraft parking ramp.  Position will work 15-20 hours per week. BEACH LIFEGUARD $13.20 - $15.70/HR D.O.E.

Work 25-30 hours per week from June 13th – September 7th, including weekends, lifeguarding and providing first aid at Santa Barbara City beaches.  No previous training or experience required; however, ocean experience in swimming, paddling, surfing, and lifeguarding is desirable. RECREATION PROGRAM LEADER (A-OK & RAP)

The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Academic year 2014-2015. SKATEBOARD INSTRUCTOR $13.20 - $15.20/HR D.O.E.

Under the Direction of the Youth Activities/Sports Supervisors and Skateboard Camp Director, the Skateboard instructor teaches skateboard techniques to children in the Spring, Summer and Saturday Skateboard Clinics, This position teaches skateboarding to children ages 4-11 at Skaters Point on Cabrillo Blvd. The instructor will assess skating skills, plan activities and arrange obstacle courses, assist skaters with pushing, standing, balancing up to more intermediate skills such as Ollies, ramps and dropping into bowls.  Instructors will also assist with skater’s sign in, check safety equipment and comply with all regulations of Skaters Point.  Skateboard instructors attend, weekly planning meetings, promote positive relationships and community events with local skate shops, families, participants and local skater enthusiasts.  Skateboard instructors should plan on working approximately 15-20 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8:15 am – 11:15 am) and Saturdays during open FREE skate clinics from 9:00 – 11:00 am.  Skateboard Instructors assist the Director with collecting, skater information, may help with sign in, repair skateboards, check Skaters point each morning for unsafe debris and may sweep or perform other duties such as walking skaters to the bathroom or meeting and greeting parents.  Under the Direction of the Youth Activities/Sports Supervisors The Skateboard Program Director implements the Spring, Summer and Saturday Skateboard Clinics, staff and its participants at Skaters Point on Cabrillo Blvd. Coordinates program activities, leads weekly planning meetings, promotes positive relationships and community events with local skate shops, families, participants and local skater enthusiasts, leads and evaluates staff in program activities, maintains all necessary skater forms, skater information and sign in, collects and verifies timesheets, maintains the integrity of Skaters Point, and all safety equipment.
