Patrol the loading zone in front of the Airport Terminal building and parking lots to ensure the orderly flow of vehicular traffic by explaining parking regulations to motorists or by issuing citations.  Staff the exit lane in the airline terminal building to ensure unauthorized persons do not enter the concourse.  May be required to serve as an escort in restricted areas of the Airport.  May be required to perform security checks of the Airport Terminal building or of the commercial aircraft parking ramp.  Position will work 15-20 hours per week.  Submit your application to the Airport Administration office located at 601 Firestone Road, Santa Barbara 93117.

Work 30-35 hours per week from June 17th – August 9th. Supervise, educate and train youth 9-17 years of age at East Beach. Activities include swimming, running, paddling, team competitions, ocean safety, beach trips and excursions. No Previous training or experience required; however, ocean experience in swimming, paddling, surfing, and lifeguarding is desirable. Candidates must pass a competitive testing process to be considered for a Jr. Lifeguard position.

SANTA BARBARA PUBLIC LIBRARY - CENTRAL BRANCH  Job duties vary but may include sorting and shelving library materials and files, emptying library book drops, maintaining orderly materials collections, responding to questions from public by directing them to proper source for assistance, basic processing of library materials. Driving a City vehicle and performing errands and deliveries may be required. Valid CA Driver's License and driver record print-out may be required. Requires physical stamina and strength sufficient to move loaded book carts and lift book bags and packages weighing up to 40 pounds; bending, lifting and stretching; accuracy in shelving and sorting in alphabetical and decimal number order. The City of Santa Barbara is looking for confident, friendly, hard working pool lifeguards with a positive attitude to join our summer of 2014 team. 
Minimum Requirements:
Must complete a continuous 500 meter swim test in under 12 minutes
Physical tryouts and interviews will take place April 27, April 30 and May 1st.
NO CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED but you must be available to ATTEND LIFEGUARD ACADEMY ON MAY 30-JUNE 1& if you are hired you must attend mandatory staff training JUNE 10-12 in order to be considered for the position.

The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Academic year 2014-2015. Under the direction of the A-OK Site Coordinator for Santa Barbara Unified School District or RAP Site Director for City Parks and Recreation, the Program Leader supervises a group of 15-20 students, assisting with homework help and providing enrichment activities.  Program Leaders plan and deliver curricula, consider age level developmental needs and interests of participants, is a role model for students, support students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment with a goal of 100% participation.  RAP and A-OK operates at eleven Santa Barbara Unified Elementary Schools.  Applicants available the full 180 school days for the academic year 2014-2015 are encouraged to apply.  If you are interested in applying, please email your application and resume to Terry Brown,  Applications are also accepted at the Human Resources Office, 735 Anacapa Street.

Under the direction of the Youth Activities Supervisor for Santa Barbara City Parks and Recreation, the Skateboarding Program Instructor supervises a group of 8-10 skaters of varying abilities, and sizes.  Children ages 4-6 and 7-12 all attend Little Shredders or  Skate Skool to learn how to navigate the challenges of Skaters Point safely and eventually learn to ‘fly like the pros’ .  Instructors assist beginning to intermediate skaters with pushing, standing, going down ramps and performing tricks all in a fun and nurturing environment.  Skateboard Instructors work under the Skateboard Camp Director; help plan and deliver group challenges, consider age level developmental needs and interests, is a positive role model for skaters, support skaters and shredders to learn and experience a variety of skateboard tricks, ensures their safety and creates a positive environment for skaters wanting to learn how to shred.  If you are interested in applying, please email your application and resume to Terry Brown,  Applications are also accepted at the Human Resources Office, 735 Anacapa Street.
