ADMINSTRATIVE SPECIALIST  $20.18/HR 
The City of Santa Barbara Community Development department is looking to hire an administrative specialist.  This position will provide clerical assistance for the Housing and Human Services Division. Duties will include the following: general office work; accurate data entry; organizing; filing; faxing; proofreading; general correspondence including emails and memos, verifying information, scanning, making copies.  This position requires: strong computer skills (proficient to advanced in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access); ability to multi-task; strong communication skills; excellent time-management.  The ideal candidate should take the initiative to perform above what is required; be energetic; motivated to learn new skills; responsible; reliable; and work independently with little direction.  Qualified candidates are required to be detail-oriented with strong math skills.  Some knowledge, familiarity and/or experience in Administration, Legal, Escrow, Real Estate, Grant Administration, and/or Mortgage Lending, are preferred.  This is a full-time position working a Monday – Friday (9/80) schedule.  If interested, please submit an application to the Community Development department, 630 Garden Street, Santa Barbara, Attn: Mia Martinez.

CULINARY MANAGER  $19.78/HR

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT $12.45/HR
The City of Santa Barbara Downtown Parking Division is accepting applications for the position of Grounds Maintenance Assistant. Duties include light building and landscape maintenance and custodial duties including trash pick-up and cleaning public restrooms. Must project a positive public image and provide excellent customer service. This position will work 18-22 hours per week, 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and may include Saturday and Sunday. LIBRARY ASSISTANT II  $19.11/HR 

The Santa Barbara Public Library is now recruiting applicants to work in the Family Literacy Center during Homework Help hours at the Central Library. Job responsibilities include: meeting and assessing new adult literacy learners; orienting and signing up children and adults for computer-assisted reading accounts at workshops and during homework help hours; working with homework help staff; assisting adult learners with basic skills and computer-assisted reading programs; and other duties as assigned.  Bilingual Spanish/English desirable. Grant funded through June 30, 2015. RECREATION PROGRAM LEADER (A-OK & RAP)

The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Academic year 2014-2015. Under the direction of the A-OK Site Coordinator for Santa Barbara Unified School District or RAP Site Director for City Parks and Recreation, the Program Leader supervises a group of 15-20 students, assisting with homework help and providing enrichment activities.  Program Leaders plan and deliver curricula, consider age level developmental needs and interests of participants, is a role model for students, support students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment with a goal of 100% participation.  RAP and A-OK operates at eleven Santa Barbara Unified Elementary Schools.  Applicants available the full 180 school days for the academic year 2014-2015 are encouraged to apply.  If you are interested in applying, please email your application and resume to Terry Brown, TBrown@SantaBarbaraCA.gov.  Applications are also accepted at the Human Resources Office, 735 Anacapa Street. 

SITE DIRECTOR RECREATION AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM $13.20 - $17.20/HR D.O.E. 
The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Academic year 2014-2015. Under the direction of the Youth Activities and Adapted Program’s Supervisor for City Parks and Recreation, the (RAP) Site Director supervises a school site of 50-75 elementary school students, and three to five staff; assisting with scholar hour and providing enrichment activities, clubs and curriculum.  A RAP site director plans and delivers curricula, considers age level developmental needs and interests of participants, is a role model for students and staff, supports students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment with a goal of 100% participation.  Site Directors are responsible for daily attendance, sign in and sign out and daily scheduling of activities, abiding by the Santa Barbara Unified School District’s and City Parks and Recreation Department rules and regulations.  WATERFRONT MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT $12.45/HR D.O.E. 
 The City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Facilities Division is recruiting for two Waterfront Maintenance Assistants – Stearns Wharf Hourly Employee and Harbor Hourly Employee.  Duties include light maintenance and custodian work.  This position will work 24 to 32 hours a week.  Hours of the shifts are 14:00-23:00, 16:00-23:00 and 07:30-16:00.
