SANTA BARBARA has always had a strong tennis community beginning with the construction in 1937 of a large wood stadium and nine outer courts at the Municipal Tennis facility. (Click here for a brief history.) Today tennis is enjoyed year-round on 22 well-maintained public courts. Located at 3 different tennis facilities, 11 of these courts offer lighted play weekdays until 9pm. Our mission is to offer quality, reasonably-priced tennis lessons and programs with convenient scheduling in well-maintained facilities and to promote tennis as a lifetime family activity. Our programming ranges from Pee Wee tennis to the intermediate-level senior player. We make tennis as accessible as possible at the grassroots level. Our instructors are experienced, USPTA/PTR certified teaching professionals.
TENNIS ACTIVITIES are offered year round for all ages and levels at Municipal and Pershing Park. Pershing Park: evening drop-in doubles; USTA leagues; men’s interclub and tournaments.
