    Description: Under the City’s Fiscal Year 2010 Budget, significant cost savings will be achieved through citywide labor measures. These measures include a 104-hour furlough (or unpaid leave) for managers, supervisors, and general employees.

    As a result, most administrative offices and non-emergency facilities will close to the public on the following dates:

    • Friday, August 14, 2009
    • Friday, November 6, 2009
    • Wednesday November 25, 2009
    • Sunday, December 20th, 2009 through Saturday, January 2, 2010
    • Friday, February 12, 2010
    • Friday, May 7, 2010

    Libraries will also be closed on the following additional dates:

    • Friday, September 4, 2009
    • Friday, October 16, 2009

    The Furlough closure does not affect police, fire, emergency services, water and wastewater treatment plants, or the waterfront department.
