The Chase Palm Park Craft Center, located at 234 East Cabrillo Blvd. on the ocean front of Cabrillo Blvd. next to the Chase Palm Park Recreation Center, boasts a terrific waterfront studio location offering a full range of low-fire materials in an inspiring, fun and educational atmosphere. Classes are kept small with personal attention guaranteed by experienced instructors. Due to popular demand, we are offering week-long, 3-hour camps this summer to increase children’s studio time. Camps will emphasize both “throwing” and hand building techniques. A flexible curriculum includes:

• Throwing on the Wheel: Basic throwing techniques.
• Tile Making: Learn how to design and fabricate dynamic and colorful tile projects.
• Clay & Culture: Visit a variety of places and peoples in this multicultural exploration clay camp. Travel to Russia, Japan, Greece, Mexico, Peru, Ancient Egypt and more.
• Contemporary Clay: We’ll look at contemporary ceramics as inspiration for both sculptural and functional projects.
