Note:
All August sessions of Chase Palm Park Camp have been cancelled
due to low participation.
Chase Palm Park Day Camp
is the perfect camp for younger campers who may have little
or no experience at camp and want all the traditional crazy
camp fun. Chase Palm Park Day Camp has theme days all wrapped
up into a one-week session. The themes rotate so each week
offers variety and keeps the camp fun and lively all summer
long. Chase Palm Park Day Camp meets in beautiful Casa las
Palmas across from the beach in the middle of Chase Palm
Park. The amenities in the park include creeklets, a carousel,
a shipwreck playground and a large grassy meadow to complement
daily themes. In one week campers will pan for gold in the
creeklets, trade their gold for money and start a business,
hunt for treasure on a make-believe deserted island, go
wild learning about animals, ride the carousel, walk to
the beach and take the Electric Shuttle to the West Beach
wading pool or Los Baños Pool. Special guest visits
to the camp include Zoo to You and the Humane Society.
Campers are placed in groups
of 6 or 7. Camp is limited to 25 campers each week. Morning
activities start at 9am with a 20-minute warm-up of crazy
staff skits, songs and an introduction of the day’s
activities. Daily themes include Frontier Village, Love
a Beach Day, Going Wild, Circus City, and Treasure Quest
with activities geared toward each theme. All activities
are listed in the Chase Palm Park sample calendar. The regular
camp day ends at 3:30 with Extended Day available starting
at 7:30 in the morning or from 3:30-5:30 in the evening.
Transportation
Each Monday and Wednesday at 1pm, Chase Palm Park campers
ride the electric shuttle to West Beach wading pool. Other
trips include walking to the beach. Campers who want a challenge
and pass the swim test at Los Baños Pool are accompanied
by a counselor and allowed to swim in the Olympic- sized
swimming pool. Counselors are in the water with campers
at all times.

camp. All the counselors have completed training in First
Aid, CPR, Basic Water Rescue and passed all background and
criminal record screening and they love working with children.
