Take a guided tour of the City of Santa Barbara’s Firescape Garden with the designers to see the beautiful fire and water wise plants in each zone, and the newly replanted zone 1 succulents. Learn how you can incorporate fire wise landscaping principals into your garden. Part of National Public Gardens Month.
Spencer Adams Garden Tour
Sat, May 18. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Free. Location: Spencer Adams Park, 1216 De La Vina St.
This tour and presentation will focus on what to do with your front yard to save water and prevent polluted runoff. The gardens at Spencer Adams Park showcase three different approaches to converting a generic turf grass front yard. Tactics discussed will be: removal and replacement with a diverse selection of water wise plants, efficient irrigation with a sub-surface drip system, and re-directing downspouts into a native rain garden. Landscape professionals involved with the installation of the gardens will be presenting. Part of National Public Gardens Month.
